You may be in need of a new battery but give it a good charge and check the water first.

thanks everybody. i will have to check that stuff out. i did have to jump it today to get her going but started fine after that. voltage on the lowrance read 14 volts when running. so if the weak battery has something to do with it, hopefully thats it.

the alarm only sounded with one beep with both the oil and water temps lit up. i dont know if that means anything or not because it is the same sound it makes when i first crank it over.

Merc. EFIs need a strong crankin' batt. it should always be hot else you will tax your voltage regulators and system , I dont think that is the problem here, but EFI owners keep a strong crankin' battery or you might face elect. repairs

I had this problem when I had an EFI....it was the alternator. Have it checked out before you go back out again!

Re: mercery EFI problem...any suggestions?

After rereading your post again, it probably is not water pressure if the motor stopped running,.. unless it went into auto protect mode.

On my Optimax when my alarm for low water press or overheating comes on the motor has never shut off.

It may be a low voltage problem, How old is your battery?

Check the water level in the batteries (if they are water filled)

I would charge it fully and see if it happens on the first run of the day. Then run the live well pumps, electronics, lights, anything that would drain the batteries..
Then see if the same problem exists.

Do it close to the ramp just in case your batteries fail.

On the older EFIs I have seen the ruff water switch with loose mounting screws have the same effect in really big waves but i cant remember if the alarm went off.
(im not sure what the switch is called, its designed to shutdown if the motor is inverted)

Re: mercery EFI problem...any suggestions?

Was it one long beep or multible beeps which indicates overheat or low on oil..

Oil maybe? How's the level in your tank? Or like Steve said, maybe a bad water pump impeller...
