Great Day on the water for the top 3 places.
Now them are some very nice fish.

Anglers Choice Lake Isabella results/ Big fish pictures

Eight teams showed today for the start of the Anglers Choice Isabella Region season opener. Expectations were high today as there were reports of several 30-40 pound bags this week as the big girls are on their move shallow. However we forgot to tell Mother Nature, we would have liked to have had some stable weather today. It was cold and the wind was blowing hard all day long causing 2-4 foot rollers. We did not get to the 30 pound mark today but with the numbers of big fish to hit the scales it is easy to see why it was expected. There were 8 fish over 7 pounds caught today, which included one over 10 pounds, two over 9 pounds and three over 8 pounds. Leading the pack at the end of the day, was the father/son team of Leo and Mark Abler with an impressive 5 fish limit totaling 25.05 pounds which included the tournaments second big fish a 9.13 pound brute. Mark and Leo said they moved around a lot today and caught all of their fish on cranks and plastics. Finishing in second place was Bob Grayson who fished by himself today. Bob weighed in 3 fish for a total of 22.33 pounds, including the tournaments big fish a 10.49 pound giant. Bob said he caught one on a crank, one on a swim bait and one on a rip bait. Finishing third was the team of Larry Merlo and Wes Neal who weighed in 3 fish for a total of 18.40 pounds anchored by a 9.08 pound beauty. Fourth place went to the team of Mike Stiles and Jason Newbe with 2 fish totaling 16.32 pounds, anchored by a big 8.77 pound fish. I look forward to seeing you all at our next tournament April 30th.
