Re: Basscat?

I have a 2010 PIV and it has HDS-5's on it.The HDS7,or Humminbird 998,or the older 997 would be the max flush fit in the console. If your looking at the 11' PIV then the 8 will fit.Give your dealer or Ivan a call at the factory he can answer all your questions. The PIV is an awesome rig.

Re: Basscat?

Yeah thats what I'm thinking the PIV is what I'm looking at. Im planning on a Merc 200 Pro XS. Im also going with or at least hope im able to is the HDS8 at the dash and a 5 on the bow.

Re: Basscat?

The PIV is the biggest of the three models at 19'-5" and a 94" beam. The Pantera II and Classic share the same hull with different deck layouts. The PIV has the most storage and will be the best riding of the three. The PII and classic will run.Depending on setup you will see numbers of up to 77mph.The PIV is IMHO the very best 19' class boat that you can buy.It doe's everything very well.If your looking at the 2011 model the PIV will take a 8" graph in the newer style console. If it's a 2010 year model than a 7" is the max.I'm not sure on the PII and the Classic as far as the console's go.You can't go wrong with any of these models. If you log on to the BCB website and go to the forum on there you can pretty much find out anything you want to know regarding any of there boats.Everyone on there is more than willing to answer any questions you may have.

Re: Basscat?

I fish out of a PIV all the time as one of my team partners has one. Great boat, good storage and lots of room on both decks!!!

P IV All the way!!!

Re: Basscat?

yeah what he said, the Classic will be the faster of the three hulls, but you will give up storage. If you do go with the Classic get the flipping deck insert makes the thing huge. If I were buying new in the Pantera range I would be gettin the P4 - But for now I will enjoy cruisin around in my 97 Classic

Re: Basscat?

The PIV is gonna be bigger, heavier, and slower with better storage and rough water abilities. The P4 is sometimes called the mini Puma. It is what I would choose as I would generally give up speed for storage and rough water ride and deck space. The PIV has a wider deck also I believe.

You might want to take a ride in a 198 or 202 Champion before you pull that trigger though. The Champ/Stratos feels much bigger (to me) than the Cat even though it's really not. 25 more ponies couldn't hurt your resale.

Basscat?

Getting ready to order my Basscat. Question though. What are the big differences between the Pantera IV, Pantera II, and the Pantera Classic? From what I can see is bow storage and console styles. The II will take a 5" sonar while the IV will take a HDS8.
