A lot of fish caught with minnows end up in stomachs anyway. Saw a guy on Lucerne beach today standing in water with a stringer over his shoulder with fish on it.

Dude really?? I must be lucky as I have Bass fished in the delta for the past 6 years with probably over 50 tourny's fished as well as fishing 2 times a week and still have NEVER HAD 1 DEAD FISH. I don't put fish in then livewell ever on non-tourny day's as I see no point in doing this. My ego is big enough already, I don't need a picture of my 20+ lbs of bass on a summer day to get off.

I was not going jump in this but I can see all the boys that just sat on the side lines just dont know when too shut their dame mouthes if you have never had a fish die you havent fished much . Do you jump on the wagon when all folks useing live minnows kill fish **** no I have seen enough on this issue grow up and except the fact that folks who had dead fish where in for the money and they dont care about the fish. I have caught many fish that dont have jaw bone left because of hard hook sets you dont talk about that do you . again I say grow up

Re: Future Pro fish mortality

this was not the first tourney of the season. this was one of the last ones, most of these guys have been fishing that circuit all season. since this circuit is considered a rookie/ beginner league, shouldn't the TD have been teaching these guys how to care for their fish? YES!!
Shouldn't he have been constantly repeating/teaching/telling these guys about fish care at every tourney, as the season progressed, so that when these guys do step up and move on the the pro teams, they would know how things are done and how to properly care for fish at any lake, during any time of year? YES !!
If guys were not taking proper care of there fish or if they were not following directions, then they should been dq'd or better yet, they should not have been allowed to fish the event, especially at this location, at this time of year.
Knowing that the conditions at clear lake (high water temps / algae bloom) and prior fish kill incidents, the TD should have stopped the event and corrected the problem before it got out of control instead of letting it go. Why didn't he take any extra steps to avoid this ugly incident, we will probly never know.
Its sad but what happened here will do nothing but hurt the fisheries and it will effect all of us in the future.

I think it's all G.W.'s fault! Hey it works for Obama!

And through the drama a lot of people were made aware that it's all about the fish. I'll send you a new stringer Ober.

Now that you mention it Ober... I actually think my poor tournament finishes are Vince's fault! If the events I fished had a few more rookies in them - I might not finish so close to last!

I'm going to have to call Vince and give him a piece of my mind.

What? Fisherman like drama? Say it isn't so.

Re: Future Pro fish mortality

This thread is 90% drama. I appreciate Tom and several others for trying to help improve the situation but some guys just seem **** bent on blaming other people for their problems.

While you're at it why don't you blame FPT for the price of gas and your poor tournament finishes and then CalBassin for your carpal tunnel and bad eyesight.

Good grief
