Economy people. Just how it is. Doesn't matter about "rookie leagues" or not. People don't have much money to travel around and fish far away lakes or enter the derbies. Shoot...in the passed couple years I've had to back down on derbies...too expensive.

Is it really the rookie leagues fault? Was there a time when the pro leagues would draw more than 10 boats? If so, where did all those pros go? They didn't downgrade. The problem is the pros that only fish their home lake. Another problem is the pros that decide to not fish a certain lake cuz they had a bad practice.
[/quote All of the so called pros are fishing WRL,FPT,or BBT..As for the pro teams drawing more than 10 boats,I remember in 2007 a small tournament was 25 to 30 boats...100% was over 50 in the big valley and in the 70's in motherload..The so called pros fishing one lake ,is probably because of expensive entry fee and having to win to make money, second place in a 10 boat field doesn't cover expenses..

I believe the rain will come Feb and Mar, its still a la nina year and it can still pour big time and water levels can rise quick..think positive, i'm thinkin a deluge is in the future, at least some good rains, the snow pack will happen and the lakes will fill with rain runoff and the snow melt,

Its probably not going to matter for long anyways if we don't get some rain this winter. The lakes are going to be ponds and all orgs will suffer. It's to bad we released all this water this winter. All for a salmon run that's not going to happen. Looks like the only tournaments that are going to be any good this summer is going to be on our game console.

ouch! the repercussions of rookie leagues continue it's wrath. i also blame dfg for issuing way too many permits to way too many circuits. only issue to x amount of organizations and there won't be so many options. the field wouldn't be so spread out. it has been getting worse and worse every year and every year it's another new org. hopefully one org will emerge as the best and start drawing the bigger turnouts.

by the way, congrats to vince and kranny on there win!
