Your unit will still show the bottom and anything that is below you. If you are stationary then the unit will seem to show a flat bottom with nothing in the water. It's because there is no elevation change to show. When you move and there is elevation change, rocks, trees, grass or something else to show then it will do so. But when you stop over any of this stuff then the return signal shows the same top of a rock for example so the screen will look like a flat bottom.

I hope this makes sense.

New Elite 4x DSI question

Hey Ken i was thinking about using one of these on my kick boat for tournaments and such. Not many reviews yet since its so new so maybe you can answer a question. Do I always have to be moving to see an image? what happens when I'm just working a tulle bank real slow....I'll still see an image wont I? I'm only asking because I have read you need to be moving at least 3 miles an hour for the DSI to work. does that just mean to work the best? But will still work when I'm floating over one spot just not great....bassiclly I should have just asked what happens to the image when your not moving.
