You are correct about the flipping stick being the wrong tool for those baits. Look at a Dobyns 867 magnum swimbait rod...absolutely the best 8 inch Hud rod I have ever used.

8" swimbait rod?

Well I got myself 2 8" hudds for xmas, now I am looking for a rod to throw these, any suggestions?
I got a Dobyn's 76 flipping stick i throw the bama on, seams a little stiff and short to throw big swimbaits?
